Dorpsmolen Stevoort
Mooi gerestaureerde en op regelmatige tijdstippen terug malende
watermolen op de Herk.
De Dorpsmolen van Stevoort is waarschijnlijk één
van de oudste molens van deze waterloop. Het huidige uitzicht
(met aanpalend woonhuis) dateert echter uit de tweede helft van de
19de eeuw. Oorspronkelijk was het een graanmolen op één
oever van de Herk, op de andere oever een oliemolen (daarvan resteren
nog archeologische sporen en enkele oliepletstenen). Het overbouwde
grote ijzeren middenslagrad drijft nu nog de maalinstallatie aan.
Village Mill of Stevoort (Hasselt)
This mill has been restored recently and is actually regularly milling again. It is considered to be one of the oldest mills of the river 'Herk', although the actual appearance dates from the second half of the 19th century. Originally a combined grain and oil mill situated on both sites of the stream, only the first is remaining. One can remark some archaeological traces of the oilmill on the other side of the Herk.
