Belgisch Museum voor Radiologie
Dit museum werd ingericht door vrijwilligers in het hartje van de dienst radiologie van het Militair Hospitaal Koningin Astrid te Brussel, met als vaste bezoekers de patiënten die hun wachttijd besteden aan een eeuw ontdekking, uitvinding, vernuft en inspanningen, ten dienste van hun gezondheid. Het heeft een unieke centrale ligging in België en heeft pluri-universitaire bindingen.
De museumcollectie bestaat uit posters en foto's die de geheimen van de radiologie ontsluieren, prachtige stukken en reconstructies van oude radiologiekabinetten die zelfs de meeste anti-wetenschappelijke geesten bekoren. De bezoekers doorlopen de geschiedenis vanaf de pioniers van de X-stralen tot aan de meest recente ontwikkelingen. Zij maken hierbij kennis met de meest uitzonderlijke toepassingen van de radiologie, zoals o.m. de paleontologie, egyptologie, schone kunsten, filatelie en ballistiek. Verder wordt ook aandacht besteed aan onderwerpen zoals de radiologie in het stripverhaal, de radiologie en de mode, enz.
Het museum beschikt over een goed-uitgebouwde website. Deze beoogt
een virtueel bezoek aan het museum, en stelt hierdoor informatie ter
beschikking aan iedereen. Terzelfdertijd vindt men er een
beschrijving met fotografische documentatie en een plan van het
museum.
Een classificatiesysteem van de posters is op een overzichtelijke
manier gepresenteerd. In de toekomst zal dit systeem uitgebreid
worden voor al het tentoongestelde (voorwerpen, boeken, video's,
foto's,...) en opgeslagen materieel.

Belgian Museum of Radiology
The museum has been set up by volunteers within the radiology department of the Queen Astrid Military Hospital in Brussels and is constantly visited by its patients, 'patiently' waiting and surrounded by reminders of a century of discoveries, brilliant inventions and great efforts for the health service. The museum is centrally situated in Belgium and is recognized and supported by the whole scientific community.
The museum collection is compiled of posters and photographs
revealing the secrets of radiology. Superb objects as well as
remarkable reconstructions of early radiology consulting rooms are
very impressive.
The visitor is able to follow the history, from the X-ray pioneers
through to the most modern developments, and at the same time
discover the more unexpected applications of radiology, such as in
paleontology, Egyptology, philately, gunnery and art. Subjects such
as 'radiology and cartoons' and 'radiology and fashion' etc. are also
approached.
The museum has a well developed trilingual website (Dutch, French
and English), aiming at a virtual visit to the museum. A lot of
information is thereby put at everyone's disposal. A museum plan and
discription is given with photographic documentation.
A classification system of the posters is presented in a conveniently
arranged overview. This system is to be expanded to all the exhibited
and conserved materials (objects, books, videos, pictures,...)

Le Musée Belge de Radiologie
Le musée fut créé par des volontaires, au coeur même du service de radiologie de l'hôpital militaire Reine Astrid à Bruxelles avec, comme visiteurs permanents, les patients qui 'patientent' dans un siècle de découvertes, d'inventions géniales et d'efforts au service de la santé. Le musée occupe une position centrale en Belgique et a développé des liens pluri-universitaires.
La collection du musée se compose de posters et de photos qui révèlent les secrets de la radiologie. De splendides objets ainsi que de remarquables reconstitutions d'anciens cabinets de radiologie charmeront même les esprits les plus réticents. Le visiteur parcourt l'histoire, depuis les pionniers des rayons X jusqu'aux plus récents développements, et découvre les applications les plus insolites de la radiologie, comme celles en paléontologie,en égyptologie, en philatélie, en balistique et dans les beaux-arts. Des sujets tels 'radiologie et bande dessinée', 'radiologie et mode', etc... sont aussi abordés.
